| The Association for Written Language and Literacy (AWLL) seeks to advance the study of writing systems and written language by facilitating communication and cooperation between researchers with diverse interests in writing research from all around the world. | ||
| AWLL community members reflect a wide range of research perspectives, including the fields of theoretical, historical and computational linguistics, psycholinguistics and language acquisition and education. | ||
| AWLL organizes international workshops approximately every 18 months and a selection of the workshop papers are published as special issues of the Written Language and Literacy journal. | ||
